Annual Report 2016 and Outlook 2017 by: Michael Schattenberg chairman Bund Deutscher Champignon- und Kulturpilzanbauer (BDC) e.V.
In 2016, a 70,000t recipe was taken for mushrooms.
In this way we achieve a self-sufficiency of more than 50% for fresh mushrooms in Germany.
The advertising campaign of the BDC will continue.
In the school project so far 2,800 sponsored mushroom boxes have been sent to the schools.
So far, 70,000 students had direct contact with mushrooms in the classroom.
The meetings of the BDC were extremely successful in October in Würzburg and the Hessisches Landesfachgruppe in Bad Salzufflen in November.
In 2016 the demand for German goods was unbroken high, but unfortunately it was still not possible to achieve cost-cutting prices. This remains an issue for 2017.
It must be possible to change the cost increases resulting from political decisions to the proceeds. The most explosive issue is the amendment of the Fertilizer Ordinance.
This provides for a blocking period from 15 November to 31 January for champagne production.
This requires immense investment in concrete storage areas.
The 2017 anniversary will take place from 06.10. - 07.10.2017 in Darmstadt.
The BDC also participates with its own stand at the IGA in Berlin from 13.04.2017 - 15.10.2017
I wish you a healthy and a good production in 2017!!!
